ma-ath camp

math camp is drawing to a close this week.  it's been a busy mix of calculus, presentation skills workshops, diversity training, resume writing, errands around campus, and getting acquainted with the area.  still settling into the new apartment and adjusting to new jersey.

it's strange to think that i've been wanting to go to school for so long (nearly a year), and now i'm here.  some thoughts:
  • i was hoping to take a quant-focused course of study, but the math has been a lot more challenging than i expected.  i moved "down" a level.
  • the water in jersey smells wierd.  brita works wonders.
  • i'm glad i don't live in a dorm but living away from campus makes me feel isolated.
  • i can't believe it's common to not have air conditioning in the north east.
  • biking to class is fun :)
on the weekends, i've had a chance to catch up with some old friends!  slowly but surely, i hope to see everyone soon!  i wandered around brooklyn with garett, showed nan around princeton, and hung out on the jersey shore with naureen & jim.

after math camp, i'll have three more days of orientation, and then classes start on september 16!

Hmm - common *not* to have A/C in the northeast? Not from my experience. Is that what your landlord told you?
