autumn notes

hi, fall.
  • cold weather foods. found a handmade dumpling place in the sunset. there are asian ladies in the back room wrapping the dumplings. they only speak mandarin but are super friendly about helping you find the frozen dumplings you want. i'll definitely be back!
  • recent creations. fig, proscuitto, goatcheese, and carmelized onion sandwich, pasta e fagioli, and curried chicken pot pie.
  • homeless. there was a homeless dude camped out between my neighbors' and my building, right behind the compost bin. i called the police. i'm not sure what i was supposed to do, i guess i could have let him stay. i wonder where he's sleeping on this rainy night.
  • books read. finished unaccustomed earth, skimmed brewing books, started his exellency (george washington biography), and bought a whole grain baking book.
  • movies watched. there will be blood and the informant.
  • new restaurants in the neighborhood, chilango and starbelly. i'll be back, chilango.
  • science museums are fun. i'm co-blogging with matt.

Did you look into whether calling the police meant this guy was likely to be arrested? I'm not sure if you live in San Fr. or another city with better laws.

I don't mean to lecture. Maybe, read this:

Are there area homelessness organizations or shelters that you can call?
