there are a lot of things i like about matt.
one thing -- we can have a serious, half-hour conversation about calculating the probability that george washington's pee is in our five gallon batch of beer.
facts. there is approximately 10^21 liters of H20, the average person pees 4 x 10^4 liters, and there are 20 liters in 5 gallons of beer.
solution. there is approximately 1 / 10^16 chance that any of george washington's pee is in our beer.

Actually, assuming that his pee is uniformly distributed in the water supply, about 1/10^17 of our beer is GW's pee. That's about 1/10^16 liters, which is about 1 femtoliter, or about a billion molecules.

water is not uniformly distributed. it is very poorly mixed given the residence time variations.
