i enjoyed this article about how "low-key" weddings are a class signifier. i think it gets it right.

I made the niu rou mien last night. It was a huge production. I wonder if making the separate beef broth and sauce was necessary?? Maybe I will try making it all at once next time. And I also omitted a lot of ingredients due to 1) not being able to find them easily and 2) laziness cuz I wasn't able to find them. :)
Anyway! Josh said it was yummy, I thought it was a bit spicier than usual. :) It was a huge production.
