yosemite thanksgiving

matt & i visited yosemite valley over thanksgiving!  highlights:

- seeing a bunch of waterfalls

- eating lunch in a sunny spot on a huge granite rock overlooking the valley

- hiking past the crowds to the quiet section of the trail.  we were the only people camping in a normally-crowded backcountry spot.

- people watching at the ahwanee hotel and making dinner on a tiny camp stove in our room  :)

- driving to and exploring the hetch hetchy area

it was a good trip!  i'd planned to hike out 9 more miles and up 1,500 more ft., but it was very, very, very cold at night.  i'll have to acquire a zero-degree bag before sleeping in below-freezeing temperatures again.
