in trying to figure things out, i spent a lot of time translating various fields' languages into my own. the legalese of epa regs and court rulings, understanding how the energy world measures things, public health evaluations of risk and toxicity, economic analysis of various consulting firms, and investment banking lingo of analyst reports.
