life notes

• cab ride home on a rainy night.  the driver tells me this:  americans think rain is miserable.  in pakistan, we think it's a beautiful thing.  then he recites poetry in urdu.  it's supposed to mean something about how the world is swaying like it's drunk.  then he tells me to enjoy nature, to go camping and enjoy absolute silence.
• exhausted from late night and weekend work.  trying to be a better manager of people.  also, on communicating my expectations more effectively.  and being decisive.  
• matt's and my second beer is ready to drink!  it's a porter, and it's got a nice flavor.
• informal sun holiday party in menlo park.
• relaxing bubble bath with candles.
