reframing

it's funny how easy it is change someone's behavior by changing their self-perception.  i guess the trick is how to change someone's self-perception.  with clothing?  with flattery?

a recent example:  matt bought some fancy motorcycle gear (jacket, gloves, helmet) for me.  after walking around (and riding) with the new gear, i started to think more seriously about taking a motorcycle class.

Sounds lame, but I think I became quite a bit more confident/outgoing (or at least a lot less shy) after my parents bought me a bright red car.

Of course now I don't have a car anymore and as a result I don't like people anymore. But it was nice while it lasted.
