things i learned about new england or specifically, about rockport, ma

  • rockport shoes are made in rockport, maine not rockport, massachusetts where we stayed.
  • roundabouts are called "rotaries."
  • there is a town hall (painted in white) and w/ quaint church (and steeple) in every town.  a super-quick google search -- "imagining new england" by joseph conforti.
  • on-ramps are short causing the right hand lane of freeway to be a scary place.
  • all houses look cute and picturesque.  like something i'd call my "country estate," complete with stable and servants quarters.
  • there are lots of fair, white-skinned people.  it's been such a long time.
  • candy stores at every turn!

nice weekend attending graduation and meeting matt's family.
